Back for it's seventh year, the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival is one of Southern California's premiere art events, transforming the region's iconic coastal bluffs into a destination for artists, breweries, and wineries to showcase their craft and celebrate art along the Pacific coast. Taking place October 10th through the 11th, the two-day juried art show features over 150 renowned artists from all over the region, a silent auction, family art center, as well as a gourmet marketplace, and a wine and beer garden which will provide refreshing sips from premiere wineries and San Diego's top breweries. The nationally recognized, juried art show and fundraiser is FREE and open to the public, welcoming families and friends to come stroll the streets of the quaint seaside village of La Jolla and enjoy the celebration of community and craft. Since launching in 2009, the 501c3 has raised over $500,000 for local area public schools. For more information, please visit www.ljawf.org

Founded by Sherry Ahern, a driving force in San Diego's philanthropic landscape, the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival's established partnership with the La Jolla Village Merchants Association continues to thrive and grow each year bringing more business to its La Jolla community. All profits raised benefit underfunded programs such as art, music, science, physical education, technology, and on-site medical care at four local public elementary and middle schools, which are all part of the San Diego Unified School District.

The BraveCort Foundation takes over the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival's Wine & Beer Garden from 8-11pm on Saturday night, and will feature some of San Diego's finest craft brews and a traditional beer stein holding contest. Funds raised will benefit San Diego-based pediatric brain cancer research.

2012 Grand National Wild West at it's Best

Over 50 million visitors have walked through the doors of the historic Cow Palace since it opened in 1941.

The sprit of the old west is still alive and well in San Francisco California. The 2011 Grand National Rodeo, Horse Show and Livestock Show continues its western tradition at the Cow Palace October 19th – 20th and it concludes on October 26th and 27th.

For 66 years the Grand National Rodeo, Horse Show and Livestock Show has been the West's most prestigious western lifestyle event attracting thousands of participants and fans from 7 western states. The exhibitors and participants have flocked year after year for the coveted Grand National Champion Buckles and awards. The attendees have returned to witness the best livestock, cowboys and cowgirls the west has to offer.

The Grand National Horse Show is one of the most anticipated indoor equestrian events in the west. In 2011 the National Reined Cow Horse Association will again sanction Open Bridle, Open Hackamore, and Non Pro Bridle classes. The AQHA Horse Show runs in conjunction with 4 days of PRCA Rodeo Oct. 14th,15th and 21st and 22nd produced for the 44nd year by Cotton Rosser and the Flying U Rodeo Company. Rosser will bring his top stock for the 600 plus professional cowboys to compete in the 7 rodeo events for championship points.

Cattlemen's Day Saturday October 20th will spotlight the West's best and brightest Cattlemen as well as a special salute to the Livestock Person of the year.

The Grand National Livestock Show will feature junior exhibitors and open show exhibitors entering their best stock competing for top prize money and the holy grail, the honor of showing a Grand National Champion.

Come early and stay late at the Grand National Western Experience, where you can shop at the Grand National marketplace, taste some award winning Bar-be-que, and dance your boots off at the Cow Palace Saloon before and after each PRCA rodeo performance.

The Grand National starts here October 19th and runs through October 27th 2012. Follow the Grand National on Facebook or check out www.cowpalace.com for more info.
